The following list are the main Self Defense techniques students must learn and will be tested on.  Supplemental self defenses will be taught.

White Belt 

  • Same Side Wrist Grab
    • Grab own fist, step back while pulling both arms to shoulder

Yellow Belt 

  • Opposite side wrist grab
    • Ungrabed hand on attacker's forearm-> step back with leg of arm grabbed & pull arm to hip in twisting mostion with relaxed hand
    • (old version)Step to attacker's side->arm moves in big circle (a wave).  Either breaks free or transition into arm lock

Green Belt 

  • One hand lapel grab 
    • Grab hand with same side->block punch->counter strike->two on one hand and push away as stepping back

Blue Belt 

  • Shoulder & Neck grabs: All directions with one or two hands
    • Use W-shaped block to press against outter forearm of attack->step away as you rotate vertically
  • Opposite side wrist grab
    • Step to attacker's side->arm moves in big circle (a wave).  Either break free or transition into arm lock

Red Belt 

  • Bear Hug: Front & back also over & under
  • Leg sweeps & Trips

Black Belt Recommended

  • Throws
  • Hair grab
    • Drop down->move foward->stand up->strike with everything
  • Headlocks: side head lock, rear naked
  • Stick attack: Block and trap weapon
